16 MHz Crystal with 22pF Capacitors

This is a breadboard friendly 16.000 MHz timing crystal for microcontrollers or any other device that requires one. It is in the HC-49S package with 13mm long pins, which fit in a breadboard along with the capacitors nicely. Included are two 22pF capacitors that are usually required to be used with the crystal. The crystal is high precision, with a tolerance of 20PPM and stability of 30PPM.

To use, connect the two pins of the crystal to XTAL-in and XTAL-out on your circuit. The crystal does not have a polarity so the pins can be connected either way. Then you will usually need to add one of the 22pF capacitors from each of the crystal’s pins to ground. You may want to check the datasheet of the device incase any extra components are required.
