Product Overview
This is a handy motor driver for NEMA17 size stepper motors. The driver board has a flat and featureless underside to connect directly to the back of a stepper motor. Using the included thermal double sided tape creates a strong connection and makes the motor act as a heat sink for the DRV8825 driver chip. Once attached to the stepper motor, a standard stepper motor cable can be used to easily connect the driver board to the stepper motor. The driver board can be controlled by the vertical male headers the same way any other DRV8825 stepper motor driver would be. There are 4 screw holes located on each corner of the board, but they can only be used if the back screws in your stepper motor are long enough for a 1.6mm extra PCB gap. That is why we recommend using the double sided tape that comes with your driver board.
This board has all of the components required to drive your stepper motor, including a 100uF filtering capacitor. The driver can output a maximum of 2.2A per motor coil, and has a supply voltage of 8.2V-45V. It can be controlled with 2.2V-5.25V logic voltage. Without a heatsink or using a stepper motor as the heatsink, the DRV8825 chip can safely output 1.5A without overheating.
